• Witness to political perjury: The War on women

  Letter from the editor,

  I was privy to witness a very sad 'ganging up' on of the democratic blogger, Diva Jyoti, where several bloggers, wrote 'insults' concerning her age difference to her spouse and  what he and her looked like.  HATE CRIMES.  They (party concerned) wrote 'hate blogs', continuously came at her even when she backed off and did her own thing, they kept aiming at her with blogs up like "Noonelikesdivas' and directed comments, not about the content in her blog but her person. (Cyberstalking)  They aimed at her personal life, made public personal information (address, full name, age, career occupation) her looks and her spouse. (his looks and their age difference)  Her only 'fault'  seemed to be that she was of an opposite political party and was forthright and outspoken and did not back down on her political views.  She was a political advocate for her party.  And I supported her in this incident on principle. 

  I might even call it sexist/misogynist and prejudice at that.  ANY female that seems to have 'power' is being aimed at in our country.  It is being  coined as the 'War on women'.  It's not 'Xanga' it universal.  In this case with  the blogger Diva Jyoti, they did not ganged up on the male counterparts of her, for spouting there politics.  Or aimed their 'wrath' at their 'spouses', personal life (personal info) or what they themselves LOOK like or their AGE...but that is all they aimed at her for.

  When it is common and totally seen as 'cool' for a guy to be with a woman 10 years younger, but you seem to pull that out as a negative quality in a woman...this is when I have issues with it and write about it.   If 'Teapot's wife was 10 years his junior, no one on earth would find that to be a problem or even worth mentioning nor would they aim insults at his wife.  But it seemed to be some sort of character flaw when a woman did it.  There are a few dozen MEN here on this that do the exact same thing as her; Avid political activism and very expressive views and opinions of politics.  She used humor but so does many other...men here. http://mrtrololo.xanga.com/ Even though in opposition, many political male activist for the republican side do similar 'political humor' blogs that were both as biting and politically targeted and charged and are very aggressively debatical where they single out others directly and write about them.  (It's usually called:  "Reporting" or roasting, if observational critique of person)  The reason standing is that what I saw was a FLAGRANT double standarding. 

  What if it's because oh, I dunno, judging from this site and how men have treated this woman (the only democratic political writer) on this and universally, she just could not find a guy that would respect her or be with her that was her own age? 

  It worries me sometimes that I will end up with a much older or much younger guy at the end for the same reason.  Guys my age are normally too competitive and egotistical with me and do not want to date an equal.   Are you going to call ME that?  If I pursue a politcal career and no guy will be with me that is my age and I turn 40 and meet a nice smart man 10 years younger than I, that really loves me like she did...will you have a problem with me also when you do not have a problem with a man doing that?

  Are you also going to call me a 'hag'?  (One of the many names they called this woman) When many men in politics PURPOSELY stay single to play the field and 'date hot chicks' while they are young and then finally figure out they are not immortal and they will not live forever and settle down to have kids and pick a......26 year old when they hit 40?  Are you going to call ME that also, even when I am not being a player but being dumped after a few dates because they don't want someone as smart as them?

  You give JON STEWART man of the year, his own TV show, when he married a 26 year old when he was 38...but called her a 'hag' and push her off XANGA?  Rush Limbaugh is on his 4th wife who is HALF his age.  You give him a show, he's worth millions of dollars.  No on brings up 'age difference' as a negative quality in him.  No one calls him a PEDOPHILE, no one calls him a 'hag' or directs insults to his age or looks(what is Fred Flinstone doing with Wilma?).  No one brings up that he pledges 'conservatism' and yet he is anything BUT the ideals of conservatism.   So what's the diff?  Are we going to be hypocrites?

  I actual know who most of these people are.  I know who Diva Jyoti is she has a proper email she's actually highly educated, she has a PH.D (yes you  people we have emailed before, that's how I met her, we emailed a few times talking about her academic field) She's something else, we are not friends but I kept that one post up about her because I agree with her on that point.  That and it is a bigger issue in our society now.  I still do not think it's appropriate to aim at someone's  spouse or someone's looks (male or female) even if you hate their guts and they deserve to be hated. (I'm not saying they were not in the right for disliking her but they aimed at the wrong things)  I find it inapproriate to double standard the way they did with her.  Fine if you have a problem with someone but aim it at what he/she DID to you and not their weight or their looks aor age in compariasaion to their husband or take it out on their family or make up  'things' about them that you do not for a fact know.

  Whatever she is and was, she was very very apt at politics, feminism and  her acedemic field.  I will insert this into her post as well but she was also one of the first 20.  She closed her blog down and that's the end of the story.  However when I searched for the top 20 and inserted the words 'feminism AND politics' hers was the only name that cropped up for a female.  She was the sole female here that wrote indicatively and directly on politics. Trunthepaige was writing on  motherhood at the time, I added her for the feminist aspect, I was pleasantly surpirsed when  she turned into am economical savant. And DIVA was brutal and confrontational and went head to head with the political MEN here and asserted her opinions on them and they....called her 'fat' and  'hag' and something about her husband being too young  for her.

  On that note I agreed with her because that my friends is LAME.  She's hitting at them for inaccurate economical graphs twisting Barack's progress on unemployment...and they retorted with: 'you're a hag, with a stupid husband".  If you have a problem with her personality or something she did to you  fine but I lack to understand how calling someone's husband stupid is supposed to make you look like the one in the right.  And aiming at their age difference when I have reason to believe that the men doing that were with women that much in age difference JUST THE OTHER WAY AROUND (the females being far younger) and yet they could only hit at her for the same thing they  did themselves, I see that as lame and hypocritical and you as insulting yourself.
